Remote-start compatibility depends on more than the vehicle’s model name. Bruce’s must check the exact vehicle and determine which system, interface, programming, and installation approach are appropriate.
What Bruce’s May Need:
Vehicle year, make, model, and trim
Engine and transmission
Traditional key or push-button ignition
Factory security and key type
Existing factory remote start
Diesel, hybrid, electric, or special starting requirements
Vehicle identification number when needed
Some vehicles require an interface module, data connection, programming, an additional key, or application-specific installation steps. Some vehicles may not support an aftermarket remote-start system.
One-Way Remote Starters Installed by Bruce’s
Remote-start installation involves the vehicle’s ignition, data, security, lock, and control systems. Bruce’s installs supported systems purchased through the store and configures them for the approved vehicle application.
After installation, the team will demonstrate the starting and shutdown sequence, remote functions, expected range, and lock or unlock controls when included.
Bruce’s does not install customer-supplied remote-start equipment or products purchased elsewhere. The shop also does not advertise general electrical repair, stereo installation, camera installation, or vehicle-lighting installation.
Use Remote Start Only as Directed
Never remote-start a vehicle inside a closed garage or another enclosed space. Make sure the vehicle is outdoors, properly secured, and clear of people, objects, and other hazards before sending a start command.
Never leave children, pets, or vulnerable occupants unattended in a running vehicle. Always follow the instructions provided by the vehicle and remote-start-system manufacturers.
